In light of the serious depletion of vegetation and rapid desert encroachment in Inner Mongolia, the Chinese government strongly encourages anti-desertification projects. Considering the strong governmental support and the large market potential of desert crops, Tian Lan (¡§TL¡¨), partnered with Green Global, entered into an agreement with Hang Jin Qi government (¡§HJQ¡¨) of Inner Mongolia to cooperate on the 5532 anti-desertification project. Pursuant to the agreement, HJQ assigned land usage rights to TL who has, in return, committed to cultivate Salix and Licorice in this area. Both of these crops are effective in preventing desertification and are also of substantial commercial value.
As an added assurance that the scientific basis, economic viability and ecological sustainability of the 5532 Project was sound, Green Global¡¦s agricultural partner in Inner Mongolia cooperated with the Academy of Forest Inventory and Planning (¡§AFIP¡¨) in a feasibility study. The AFIP is a top-grade national research institution that is a direct subsidiary of the Chinese State Forestry Administration engaged in technical project design and development of national environmental projects. The result of the feasibility report reflects our original expectations regarding conservation effectiveness and commercial viability of the 5532 project and ensured that it met the national criteria for ecological conservation and anti-desertification.
With the backing of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the 5532 project aims to cultivate and manage 5,000,000 mu (~333,000 hectares) of Salix over the next five years and 200,000 mu (~1333 hectares) of Licorice over the next three years. Planting under the 5532 project will begin in the marginal land of Hang Jin Qi in Ordos, Inner Mongolia. |
